Scott Reilly is an experienced potter with more than 40 years of experience in the industry and loves to share his passion. He creates various pottery pieces, including mugs, large vessels, and pots designed for trees.
The name of his pottery business, Hawk Nest Pottery, was inspired by his introduction to the world of arts and crafts.
After graduating high school, Scott chose not to attend college and was invited to live with a Native American Abenaki family in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine.
Every summer, Scott and his mentor, Ben Walking Hawk, would travel from Maine to northeastern Pennsylvania for Camp Weequahic, an arts and crafts summer camp for children. Scott lived with Ben and his wife, Ellie, in Maine and spent his summers with Ben, traveling to Pennsylvania for three years.
Scott has a distinctive and patient approach to teaching pottery. He is experienced in guiding beginners through the challenges of throwing clay on the wheel and hand-building techniques.
At Hawk Nest Pottery, clients can expect a studio environment unlike a typical classroom setting. Instead, it offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by a beautiful Asian garden with bamboo and a winding water
stream feature.
It's a perfect place to find refuge and inspiration.
